All that and a bag of chips

Ephesians 1:11-14

In him we have obtained an inheritance, having been predestined according to the purpose of him who works all things according to the counsel of his will, so that we who were the first to hope in Christ might be to the praise of his glory. In him you also, when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed in him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit, who is the guarantee of our inheritance until we acquire possession of it, to the praise of his glory.

God inheritance is not something that we should casually consider. Think about it… the creator of the universe has chosen you, yes you, to have all that he has. Right now as a young person, inheritance is not usually on your brain, and rightfully so! But I can tell you as a dad, want my kids to be so blessed by what I can give them – right now and when I’m gone. Within days of each of my kids being born Sarah and I set up their inheritance. Why? There is nothing more honoring to my kids than to give them all that I have (and more)!

What I can do for my kids, doesn’t even touch what God has for us. When you put your trust in Jesus, God immediately set up a super natural inheritance for you. The riches of heaven are for you now and also experience in the life to come. Just like any family dynamic, the more time you spend with each other, the more you will be like each other. I think most you see that example lived out between Judah and I : )

Scripture and Prayer

Please take some time to read this scripture and pray into it:

2 Corinthians 3:18

So all of us who have had that veil removed can see and reflect the glory of the Lord. And the Lord—who is the Spirit—makes us more and more like him as we are changed into his glorious image.

This is one of my favorite scriptures. In Paul’s second letter to the church at Corinth, he writes, “And the Lord — who is the Spirit — makes us more and more like Him as we are changed into His glorious image.” The point is that once you receive an inheritance, you begin to live like the One who gave it to you! This week, ask the Holy Spirit to show you one way inheritance empowers you to demonstrate the Father just like Jesus did. Pray about how you could express the characteristics that you have inherited from your Father.

Love you all so much!
