Bag on Your Head

Take a few minutes and read the story of Gideon. It’s found in Judges 6-8.

-YES… read two whole chapters 🙂

If you are walking down the street with a paper bag over your head, you won’t be able to see where you are going, let alone help anyone else get to where they are going. When we don’t understand the love God has for us and are weighed down by fear, shame, and other negative things, it is like somebody walking down the street with their head completely covered. As we grow into greater and greater intimacy with Jesus, He addresses the pain in our lives because He wants us to be free — to be able to look at life as He made it to be, without the paper bag. When we are able to see clearly, we can help teach others to see clearly as well. As our hearts are healed from wounds of the past, we can help lead the way for others to find healing.

Consider these questions with the Holy Spirit:
  1. Think about Gideon’s story and how he was called to face his fears. Is there anything inside of you that scares you or that you would feel embarrassed about if other people knew? How do you think this keeps you from stepping into your destiny?
  2. What would Jesus say about the things you don’t like about yourself?
  3. How could understanding His heart for you help you to show His heart to others?

Love you guys!
