The Lord is entirely trustworthy, and Advent is the deliverance of His promise. He takes our trust in Him seriously because His character is flawless and He is faithful.

The first Sunday of Advent focuses on our expected hope for the promises of God, even when it seems that God is silent and our hope has been deferred.

The Book of Titus challenges the Church to live the life of Christ, choosing Him over ourselves. We have to dig in, talk face-to-face with Him, and make the decision to lay down our will in exchange for the life Christ has called us to.

We have been given a sacred obligation to reveal Jesus through how we live in our marriages, families, workplace, and friendships, partnering with the Lord in His divine order, and seeking unity with one another.

Paul instructs Titus to willful submission to any place we are under authority. How we respond to authority is one of the greatest ways we reveal Jesus to the world around us.

We are to be so transformed by the Gospel that we are fully devoted to the things that are good and profitable for the world around us, taking hold of what matters and letting go of the things that don’t.

We cannot live with self-control and in right conduct if we don’t have a plan to manage our emotions. We need to create an action plan with Lord for how we will conduct ourselves during hardship.

As followers of Jesus, we are called to live lives of self-control and right conduct, putting aside entitlement and seeking personal encounter with God.

We cannot confine salvation to a me-sized box; we must be a people who extend unconditional mercy to others and understand that forgiveness is not just a good idea, but is mandatory for salvation.

Paul’s instructions for voluntarily coming under authority apply to us as employees in the marketplace, where we are to show and put on Jesus.

We are asked as a family to reflect on Paul’s instructions to men and women in Titus 2 and honestly ask ourselves this question: Does my life reflect right teaching?

We are all priests before God, bringing praise to God as a whole body.

Paul’s message to slaves in Titus 2 is not an endorsement of the human institution of slavery, but is a call to serve Christ as Master regardless of circumstance.

Paul encourages Titus to remain strong in the faith, leaning into both the redemptive and instructional aspects of grace, while walking humbly in the authority he has been given.

The instructions to Titus for right living as men and women in the Kingdom are to have a generational impact, passing on the faith to the younger generations.

Continuing our study of Titus 2, we look at how women are to model Kingdom femininity, a role which can only be lived out through a life rooted in Jesus.

In Titus 2, Paul describes what Kingdom femininity looks like, outlining a life that is appropriate of women who are revealing the Father to the world.

Titus 2 outlines how older men are to live before Christ, asking them if their life decisions reveal Jesus.

The Lord sees disobedience as rebellion, and we are to live in alignment with right teaching where Jesus matters more than anything else.

In Titus 1:4-9, Paul instructs Titus on spiritual authority. This authority is intended to draw others to the unifying truth and transformative life of the common faith we share as believers.

We are challenged as a family to faithfully step into the tithe, to be a body that gives and provides for the needs of our community.

Titus 1:5-9 outlines true masculinity, calling men to order their lives not around culture but around the character and person of Jesus.

As we begin our study of the Book of Titus, we are asked to allow this book to correct our doctrine and teach us how to live.

Dr. Jay Leroux brings a special message on patiently waiting for the promise of God and the movement being stirred up in the current generation to do great things in the Kingdom.

If our view of God the Father is not correct, we easily fall into lies about who we are. We are encouraged to examine our understanding of God so that we might rightly deal with ourselves, deal with forgiveness, and deal with trials.

Living generously doesn’t just mean financial generosity; it means generosity in all parts of our lives.

When things go wrong in our lives, and unexpected circumstances shake our world, it can be easy to lose hope. But despite what happens, Jesus is always our Savior, Lord, and Hope.

As we finish our study of Revelation, we reflect that this book is to be believed, obeyed, and practiced, and reveals the victory of Jesus and promises certainty for those who follow the Lamb.

In Revelation 21:9-22:4, John is shown the City of God, a perfect Kingdom in which God dwells with His Bride, the Church.

Revelation 21:1-16 reveals that God has had a plan from the beginning of time and eternity, a plan to restore and make all things new, and a plan to dwell among us.

In Revelation 20, John describes the Final Judgement— faced by both believers and non-believers— and we are asked the question: eternity, eternity, where will you spend eternity?

We are in a place and time when sin has taken hold of our region and it is our job as believers to faithfully pray, that we might become conduits for the things of God in our world.

Revelation 19 and 20 describe Heaven coming down to earth as Jesus ultimately conquers death and evil.

Jesus invites us to live a generous lifestyle, asking us to trust Him with our giving so that we would become generous people.

It is easy to become indifferent to the voice of the Lord over time, but He is gracious towards His people and gently calls us back to repentance.

As we finish studying John’s vision of the sinful indulgences and excesses of Rome in Revelation 18 and 19, we are asked this question: are we investing in the momentary pleasures of sin, or are we investing in eternity?

Revelation 17 sets the stage for the completion of Christ’s triumph over evil and the restoration of God’s original design for humanity and the world.

John’s vision in Revelation 15 and 16 describes the righteous wrath of God being poured out on the unrepentant.

John has a vision of Judgement Day in Revelation 14, casting an enteral perspective over our lives.

In this second part of Revelation 13, we consider what John’s vision could mean for our current time in a way that is consistent with the historical context we have been studying.

We study how the early church would have understood John’s vision in Revelation 13 and use that context to carefully decipher the identities of the beasts.

As we return to our Revelation study, we reflect on our strategic placement in this world and are encouraged to examine how we witness to Christ through our testimonies.

As witnesses in the Kingdom of God, our testimony is to be a fire that challenges evil and leads others to repentance.

As followers of Christ, we are citizens of Heaven. That is our primary citizenship. All other earthly citizenships are secondary.

Team Sunday is an opportunity to get connected with one of Vintage’s many teams and find ways to serve this house.

Revelation 10:1-11 reminds us that God is omnipotent, sovereign, and faithful. He is God over all chaos and all stability. We are encouraged to hear, obey, and experience His voice.

Revelation 8 and 9 contrasts the Kingdom of Heaven with the kingdom of darkness as the six trumpets are blown by the angels. As evil is allowed to inflict the earth, the text reminds us of God’s promise to protect those who are in Him.

In Revelation 8:1-5, when the seventh seal is broken, we learn that the central focus of the heavenly throne room is the prayers of God’s people. We are all intercessors whose prayers are collected in Heaven and used to create a response from Heaven to earth.

Revelation 7 describes a process more than a chronology. From the language of the text, we learn that we can draw strength from God through worship and intimate community with others. We will go through difficulty, but God promises He will go through it with us. 

Revelation 7:9-17 reminds us that the Lamb came to save all of humanity. Jesus wants us to be counted in the limitless crowd worshipping the Throne. There is hope and encouragement in the power of grace, which remedies the problem of sin and chaos.

In Philippians 4:10-20, we learn that generosity is the outcome of a life submitted to the Biblical principles of stewardship and contentment. Contentment means understanding and embracing the fact that God is in control of our circumstances.

By studying the seal of righteousness and the various number patterns in Revelation 7:1-17, we understand its significance for the original Jewish audience and believers today. Chapter 7 is a picture of God’s covenantal faithfulness to His beloved and holy people.

In Revelation 6:1-11, we see that the six seals represent various forms of divine judgment linked to human actions, specifically false worship and idolatry. As the people of God, we must adopt the worship culture of Heaven and make sure Jesus is the only one receiving our attention and praise.

When we avoid God’s plans out of fear and choose our own paths instead, we miss out on His promises for our lives. Revelation 4:1 invites us to let go of our own answers, desires, and beliefs and trust God.

The chaos and tribulation of life are only going to get worse, and we have a choice to take a stand or run away. We are called to return to the Lord and strengthen ourselves in Him. Daniel gives us an example of how to stand firm in our faith.

Revelation 6 and 7 are about God’s judgment and the response of humanity to chaos and suffering. As believers who have placed their identity in Jesus, we can stand victorious before the throne in the face of tribulation.

Revelation 5:1-14 shows us that Jesus is the perfect and complete solution for the plague of sin. On this side of the cross we have the power of the Holy Spirit dwelling within us. We also see that Biblical worship has the power to affect both Heaven and Earth.

In Chapter 6 of Revelation, we see the significance of the first six seals, God’s judgment, the four horsemen, and the suffering of believers. We learn we must stop fixating on a world under judgment and fix our eyes on Him through lives of worship and obediance.

The Book of Revelation tells how the prayers of saints are collected in Heaven and trigger supernatural activity on Earth. The church plays a crucial role in ushering in God’s authority, so we must respond to the chaos around us with prayer and intercession.

Satan utilizes spiritual entities to control and corrupt the physical world. For example, politics and the government often become places where he does the most damage.

How does it look like to behold the Lord daily, and how does it benefit us? Our daily encounters will lead to a new worship experience.

True worship has a direct object. We can’t participate in it until we completely surrender. It’s a choice. It’s yielding to the Holy Spirit. If Jesus isn’t the focus, if His character isn’t elevated, if He isn’t worshipped and adored, it isn’t true worship.

What does true worship look like? It’s stepping into heaven by setting our minds on the things above. True worship is far more about our mental choices than our emotional conditions. True worship is focused on Jesus.

Worship includes three significant lenses: Giving thanks to God for what He did and what He will do, praising Him for who He is, and beholding Him with affection and amazement.

Our Heavenly perspective can be deadened by our sin and narrowed by improper focus. To access Heaven, we must get to know the Father through His Son, Jesus.

The Lord is obvious: He stands at our heart door and knocks. Are you willing to open your heart to let Him in?

Our external worlds are influenced by our internal disciplines. One thing we don’t always think about is that Jesus was extremely good at managing His internal nature.

Jesus is the one who opens and closes doors. We are on a journey where our faith is being refined, tested, and pushed to grow.

Jesus is saying to the believers in Philadelphia that their faithfulness has not gone unnoticed. In this passage, Jesus reveals some truth: faithfulness to Him brings favor into our lives.

Dr. Ian Paul, largely considered one of the leading theologians of Revelation, dives into Revelation 7:1-17.

Verse 16 states, “So because you are lukewarm – neither hot nor cold – I am about to spit you out of my mouth.” Why was this church lukewarm?

Verse 8 states, “I know all the things you do, and I have opened a door for you that no one can close. You have little strength, yet you obeyed my word and did not deny me.”

Revelation 3 states, ” To all who are victorious, I will never erase their names…” This immediately begs the question, “Can your name be removed?” Two simple logical ideas are offered: First, Jesus says it can be removed. Second, Jesus teaches how to live so it isn’t a problem.

The spiritual deadness of these believers was the result of their incomplete lifestyle. Somewhere along the way, they thought, I can check out of my faith. And because they weren’t living from the Holy Spirit’s direction, they possessed the name Christian, but their outer life didn’t reflect this professed identity.

We don’t work in God’s Kingdom because it’s required of us. We work in God’s Kingdom because it’s what we were created to do.

We are graced with the opportunity to repent from sin, not the choice.

David Mitchell examines a passage of Revelation which warns us of the spirit of Jezebel and her influence on the global chuch to this day.

In Revelation 2: 12-17, Jesus expresses His anger towards the sin of tolerating idolatry and sexual sin. The way Jesus addresses these issues applies directly to our culture.

I want to challenge us as a people to ask the question, where in my life am I allowing myself to partner with the demonic by using accusation?

If you ask for an answer to your sufferings, you will never get a satisfying answer. We all want the fellowship of the resurrection and the power, but no one wants to be part of the fellowship of Jesus’ suffering.

Jesus did not enter our world so that we might partake of good manners or morals. Rather, God sent His only Son into the world so that we might live through Him.

The Lord is compassionate. He hates anything that stands in the way of our partaking in life, truth, and the paradise He prepared for us.
