STORIES SEEN, HEARD, AND STRENGTHENED

2 Timothy 2:2

Our goal is to help men find their true identity as sons of the most high God and give hope through the Good News of Jesus Christ. We encourage each other through the experiences we have overcome and come together with the mission of changing lives around us.

Identity

John 10:10

The thief comes to kill, steal, and destroy. We recognize the spiritual battle taking place all around us. We are men with biblical principles and perspectives that help them restore their hearts, minds, and souls. This allows them to live their lives the way the Lord intended them to be. This often only happens after some excavation and rebuilding work on the foundational blocks of our lives are built. Wounds must be addressed and brought to God for complete restoration before total healing can occur. Together, we learn the importance of breaking all agreements we have made with the enemy, such as ”I am not good enough” or “That’s never going to happen to me.”

Restoration

Ephesians 4

We equip men for the work of ministry and for building up the Body of Christ. Ephesians 4 describes a mature believer as one who lives in the unity of faith, in the knowledge of the Son of God, and has full maturity of manhood in the fullness of Christ. Vintage Men will walk alongside you as you learn how to hear His voice, carry His presence, and point others toward Him!

DISCIPLESHIP

We believe in living life together by being open and authentic with one another and establishing relationships with like-hearted men who will be there throughout all seasons of our lives. Our ministry is a place where men can expect to be seen, heard, and loved without fear of judgment or shame. We choose to spend time with one another, living our lives adventurously and courageously for the Kingdom of God.

MEET OUR TEAM

Steve and Deb Shelton live in Loveland, CO, and have been blessed with 5 amazing children and 3 beautiful grandchildren. After 30+ years working in the Aerospace industry, Steve retired and began what he refers to as his best chapter ever, his “Give Back” chapter. Steve is an avid outdoorsman and loves enjoying God’s handiwork on the water or in the mountains! Steve has been privileged to serve in the men’s ministry at Vintage for almost a decade. Steve loves seeing men’s masculine hearts restored as they humbly turn their eyes toward God and get a glimpse of the kind of men He created them to be, men God can gladly entrust part of His Kingdom to!

ways to get involved

Vintage Men hosts Bible studies specifically for men throughout the year. These are fruitful opportunities to come together for fellowship, accountability, and spiritual growth. We invite you to join our next one.

Bible studies

Throughout the year, we gather together and seek what God has for us at a retreat. Oftentimes, we follow the principles of John Eldredge’s book, Wild at Heart, although our primary focus is to encounter the Lord and follow his guidance as He moves in the heart of the men attending.

STAY INFORMED

FAQS

WHAT DOES A RETREAT LOOK LIKE?

HOW DO I GET INVOLVED IN A MEN’S SMALL GROUP?

CAN YOU EXPLAIN VINTAGE MEN BIBLE STUDIES?

WHY WILD AT HEART FOR MEN’S RETREATS?

We truly believe that the ministry of John Eldredge and Wild at Heart is by far the best experience and ministry we have found to partner with. Eldridge says, “Every man is involved in a love story that takes place in a war. The love story is how God created us to live in relationship with him. The war is how do we live out the life of God on a daily basis? We must have a consistent encounter with God and trust the process of God’s faithful care and the necessary discipline.” Simple yet profound!

WHICH SERVICES WILL VY | KIDS BE AVAILABLE?

Our retreats consistently look like this: We take 40-55 men away for 3 nights and days to the mountains at a small retreat center about an hour from Fort Collins in Bellevue, Co. The goal is to recapture the tender and non-toxic masculine soul by healing our past, encouraging us in our present situations and giving us hope for the future. The only way to truly describe a Wild at Heart Retreat is that it’s life changing. Everyone who attends says the same thing - “it’s hard to put into words what its like - you just have to experience it yourself”. If you are interested in attending, you can expect to have daily sessions of teaching and study, time for reflection, silent, free time, and opportunities to build community, like gathering around a bonfire.

WHICH SERVICES WILL VY | KIDS BE AVAILABLE?

Our men’s groups have sprung up in an organic manner. A group of guys will generally meet at one of our quarterly Gatherings, a Bible study, at a Sunday Gathering or through one of our retreats and start a meeting together in small group format. Our groups are varied but not forced - they are based on common interests and desires. The philosophy of the Vintage Men ministry is if you want to be a part of a small group and can’t find one, then maybe you are to start one. A great place to start is attend one of our upcoming Bible studies, the next retreat, or reach out and connect with new men at a Sunday Gathering.

They are a launching pad to learn and grow in the Lord for a short period of time, and meet other men to be able to get connected into the men’s community at Vintage and establish lifelong friendships.
