OUR GATHERINGS

MEET OUR TEAM

Gary and Karen Peters married in the late 1970’s and have 2 children who are both married, and have 6 grandchildren. After attending bible college at Ontario Christian Seminary and then Christ for the Nations, Gary has pastored for over 40 years in many places including founding a church in Longview, Washington, being a lead pastor in Redwood City and San Francisco, California, and now being on the Executive Pastoral Team over Spiritual Direction here in Fort Collins, Colorado. He has taught at conferences, retreats, YWAM based, and colleges to invest in the next generation and has a heart for men to be built up into the men God intends them to be.

FAQS

WHAT DOES A RETREAT LOOK LIKE?

HOW DO I GET INVOLVED IN A MEN’S SMALL GROUP?

CAN YOU EXPLAIN VINTAGE MEN BIBLE STUDIES?

WHY WILD AT HEART FOR MEN’S RETREATS?

We truly believe that the ministry of John Eldridge and Wild at Heart is by far the best experience and ministry we have found to partner with. Eldridge says, “Every man is involved in a love story that takes place in a war. The love story is how God created us to live in relationship with him. The war is how do we live out the life of God on a daily basis? We must have a consistent encounter with God and trust the process of God’s faithful care and the necessary discipline.” Simple yet profound!

WHICH SERVICES WILL VY | KIDS BE AVAILABLE?

Our retreats consistently look like this: We take 40-55 men away for 3 nights and days to the mountains at a small retreat center about an hour from Fort Collins in Bellevue, Co. The goal is to recapture the tender and non-toxic masculine soul by healing our past, encouraging us in our present situations and giving us hope for the future. The only way to truly describe a Wild at Heart Retreat is that it’s life changing. Everyone who attends says the same thing - “it’s hard to put into words what its like - you just have to experience it yourself”. If you are interested in attending, you can expect to have daily sessions of teaching and study, time for reflection, silent, free time, and opportunities to build community, like gathering around a bonfire.

WHICH SERVICES WILL VY | KIDS BE AVAILABLE?

Our men’s groups have sprung up in an organic manner. A group of guys will generally meet at one of our quarterly Gatherings, a Bible study, at a Sunday Gathering or through one of our retreats and start a meeting together in small group format. Our groups are varied but not forced - they are based on common interests and desires. The philosophy of the Vintage Men ministry is if you want to be a part of a small group and can’t find one, then maybe you are to start one. A great place to start is attend one of our upcoming Bible studies, the next retreat, or reach out and connect with new men at a Sunday Gathering.

They are a launching pad to learn and grow in the Lord for a short period of time, and meet other men to be able to get connected into the men’s community at Vintage and establish lifelong friendships.
