CHANGED LIVES, CHANGING LIVES

We as a church seek to eliminate all dividing walls - lack of belonging, historic resentment, the stigma of incarceration, the “us versus them” mindset - by acknowledging the Biblical truth that sin is every person’s problem and Christ is every person’s answer.

Unity

We follow a discipleship model where time is spent to develop each recipient and equip them for the work of the ministry for building up the Body of Christ, in unity of faith, in knowledge of the Son of God, to full maturity of manhood in the fullness of Christ and joined to the Body of Christ.

Ephesians 4

DISCIPLESHIP

Our mission is to first gently present men with God’s justice for sin and the gracious terms of peace offered to them through the redemptive work of His beloved Son and the regenerative work of His Holy Spirit as spoken through the Scriptures.

REDEMPTION

2 Timothy 2:2

Our goal as a team is to give men hope through the Good News of Jesus Christ, hope through the experience of those who have overcome, and hope through the mission of changed lives in turn changing lives.

HOPE

WE BELIEVE IN:

Our mission is to serve, encourage, and motivate men from Larimer County Department of Corrections (LCDC) halfway house and work release programs as well as Denver City Rescue Mission’s Harvest Farm in Wellington, CO. Twice a month, we gather over a meal followed by a time of worship, a message, a testimonial, prayer, and fellowship.

Our Mission

MEET OUR TEAM

My wife Laura and I were saved, baptized, and discipled in Huntington, NY. Later, in Cleveland, OH, I joined others in the city in putting on services for those at the Cleveland City Missions, and this is where I felt that the Lord introduced me to the opportunity of ministering to the socially marginalized. After many moves around the country, attending Bible College and a church start-up in Houston, the Lord introduced me to ex-gang members in Albuquerque, NM and I became friends with them. Through this, the Lord lit up 1 Samuel 22:2 to me. “And everyone who was in distress, and everyone who was in debt, and everyone who was bitter in soul, gathered to him…” Eventually, we came to Vintage and I felt an immediate affinity to this ministry. I began serving and eventually grew to lead the DTS Ministry.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

Community and fellowship are valuable tools of encouragement and accountability. Every gathering will offer opportunities to develop relationships with other members of DTS.

Fellowship

Either a DTS volunteer or visiting speaker will share a short teaching and lead us in a time of prayer. If you have individual prayer needs, this is an excellent time to bring them before the Lord.

Prayer & Message

We will carve out a time to lead you through worship corporately so you can learn to worship God personally.

A core value of Vintage City Church is the sharing of meals together. We'll open each gathering with a hot meal, a few lively games of chess or corn hole, and foster a time of community and fellowship.

FAQS

CAN ANYONE GET INVOLVED TO HELP WITH THIS MINISTRY?

WHAT DOES DTS STAND FOR?

DTS stands for Discipleship Training School. 2 Timothy 2:2 says, “You have heard me teach things that have been confirmed by many reliable witnesses. Now teach these truths to other trustworthy people who will be able to pass them on to others.” The ministry is focused around discipleship and our goal is to teach men so that they can go on to teach other men and ultimately fulfill the calling of the Great Commission.

CAN ANYONE GET INVOLVED TO HELP WITH THIS MINISTRY?

WHAT DOES DTS STAND FOR?

Yes! Many think it takes a specific person to be able to take part in ministering, but we believe that, regardless of the details within your story, Jesus is the unifying piece to each of our lives as the Body of Christ and that anyone who has experienced the transformation of Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior can walk alongside others to experience the same.
