Baptism is a celebration that we have new life in Jesus. It symbolizes the fact that all of our historic sin and mistakes from our past life have been erased.
In John chapter 3, Jesus tells Nicodemus that "Unless a man is born again, he cannot inherit the kingdom of Heaven."
How does this work? Paul states in Romans chapter 6 that when we are baptized, we are buried into Jesus’s death. As we come back up out of the water, we are born into our new life in Jesus.
It is this recognition of new life in Jesus that we celebrate together as a church family when a member of the Vintage family decides to be baptized.
What does the Bible say about Baptism and how do we celebrate at Vintage City Church?

It is our honor to baptize you, to celebrate you, and to make this a commemoration of your new life in Jesus.
If you would like to publicly declare that Jesus is your Lord and Savior through Jesus's death, burial, and resurrection, then baptism is the next step for you.
Our baptisms take place the last Sunday of every month. Click the link below to register for our next baptism day and select your desired time gathering time.
There’s a lot of debate in theology regarding the question, "Do I have to be baptized in order to be saved?" Some say you have to be baptized in order to gain salvation while others believe there is no direct correlation.
At Vintage we think that’s the wrong question.
In Matthew 28, Jesus says, “Go into all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit." Therefore, our stance is that baptism is an act of obedience that we are called to honor, regardless of this theological stance.
God asks us to get baptized, so we do so as an act of obedience, worship, and celebration.
matthew 28:19
Go into all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the father, the son, and the holy spirit.
You will be fully submerged so please dress appropriately wearing dark clothes and bring a change of clothes with you. We will have towels prepared for you.
Our team will gather photos, prayers, and a certificate of your baptism, which will be sent to you shortly after your baptism so that you can remember and celebrate your baptism for years to come.
There will be a registration table where you can sign in, collect a lanyard, and receive further instructions from a member of the leadership team.
We don’t want you alone in this special moment so bring your friends, family, and loved ones so that they can celebrate with you. We have plenty of seats reserved in the front rows just for you.

Jesus gave the Church the sacrament of baptism when He commanded His first followers to "go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit" (Matthew 28:19-20). The Scriptures say that we are "baptized into His death" (Romans 6:3). When a baptized person is submerged in water, this act represents the end of their former life, enslaved to sin and self indulgence. When they are lifted out of the water, they are identified as newly alive in Jesus (Galatians 2:20) and as belonging to Him (Romans 14:8).
We do have a system in place for people to let us know which gathering they would like to be baptized at, although we love it when people respond spontaneously and want to get baptized on the spot! Regardless of if you have signed up or not, we will have dry clothes and towels for anyone that needs them. Our hope is to make the process of baptism as easy as possible for everyone, so we will never turn someone away who hasn't "scheduled" a time.
You can sign up through our Baptism Interest Form. You can sign up for any upcoming Baptism Sundays, which occur on the last Sunday of every month.
Yes, our baptisms are included on our live streams. While they are part of the live experience online, they do not stay up on our Youtube page after the specific live stream time. We will also have a photographer at the site of the baptism taking pictures for you to receive after your baptism.
We believe this is the wrong question... If Jesus commanded that we be baptized, and faith-filled obedience always invites the blessing of the Lord, why would we refuse to obey?

There are no passages within Scripture which expressly prohibit or discourage a person from rededicating their life to Jesus through the act of baptism. If the Lord is leading you to be re-baptized, we encourage you to do so!
